When the shipping for the combination of multiple items goes more than the requested, I'll send an invoice with the actual shipping amount on it. I'm not trying to make money on shipping.

If you have a payment method in your account profile, ebay will now autopay the auction when you win, making combining shipping difficult. As a seller, I can't turn that off. It's my understanding, that as a buyer, the only way to turn off autopayments is to delete the payment methods you may have in your account settings before you bid.
If you win multiple auctions and they are auto-paid, I'll refund the money after the shipping price is determined. However, that will take a little time, so please temper expectations of immediate shipment.
