Offered for your consideration is a vintage POLYDAX model HD 13 D 34H 34mm (nominal 1¼ inch) soft dome tweeter, manufactured in France by AUDAX.
As you may know, AUDAX has been one of Europe’s most respected speaker companies for decades and their drivers are found in high-end brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Rogers, Spender, Vandersteen, Speakerlab, and many others.

This POLYDAX tweeter is in clean, very good-to-excellent condition. It has a dimple-free radiating surface with just a tiny crease or two and some airborne dust/fuzz that settled on the once tacky surface over the years. Plus, the black-finished steel faceplate is in great shape with only some worn enamel at the mount holes and a couple of light scuffs, all as pictured.
Also, there’s no rust or oxidation on the very large magnet structure or even its retention screws. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity (red paint side = positive) and have been desoldered for the next owner’s convenience. Overall, this stalwart tweeter is quite nicely preserved.
Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds remarkable—very strong and clear with excellent imaging and the upper frequency detail you’d expect from AUDAX. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.4Ω, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 5⅛” diameter, it stands about 1¾” tall (incl. the dome), and the mount holes are spaced 35/16” adjacent / 4⅝” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c.
If you have a blown POLYDAX HD 13 D 34H tweeter in one of the many top brands that used it over the years, you’ve found the right listing—your speakers will be sounding their finest once again! Long discontinued, and becoming harder to find (and costlier) on eBay every year, it’s a great spare to have around just in case.
