Collection of four vintage basketball coaching and instructional books from 1963–1968, including Sharman on Basketball Shooting by Basketball Hall of Famer and Boston Celtics great Bill Sharman.
These books have an interesting documented ownership history: the entire group was purchased directly from longtime California educator Jim Grecian in Bakersfield, California. The Bill Sharman volume bears Jim Grecian's handwritten name and reading notes inside and contains vintage Bill Sharman material, including a photograph of Sharman in his Boston Celtics uniform.
1. Sharman on Basketball Shooting — Bill Sharman

Written by legendary Boston Celtics guard, coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Sharman. Illustrated throughout with basketball photographs and instruction.
This particular copy contains Jim Grecian's handwritten name and reading notation on the front endpaper, along with a vintage photograph of Sharman in his Celtics uniform and a mounted piece of vintage Sharman promotional/jacket material.
The exterior has an older homemade/custom protective covering, as shown.
2. The Scramble Attack for Winning Basketball — Jack Richards

3. How to Attack and Defeat Zone Defenses in Basketball — Harry G. Santos

Detailed vintage coaching manual devoted to attacking and defeating various zone defenses.
4. Organization for Championship High School Basketball — Sal "Red" Verderame
Prentice-Hall, 1963. Hardcover with dust jacket.
Verderame was head basketball coach at Wilbur L. Cross High School in New Haven, Connecticut. The book covers the organization and operation of a successful high-school basketball program.
These four books were purchased directly from Jim Grecian in Bakersfield, California and are being offered together as acquired.
Grecian was a longtime California educator associated with Tehachapi High School, where he taught science for many years and was also involved with the school's athletic community.
The handwritten "Jim Grecian" ownership notation and reading instructions remain inside the Bill Sharman volume.
No claim is made that any handwriting in the book is that of Bill Sharman.
All four are vintage used books showing age and shelf wear.
Three retain their dust jackets, which exhibit varying degrees of rubbing, discoloration, edge wear and small tears. The Bill Sharman volume has an older homemade/custom exterior covering and mounted material inside the front cover. Handwritten ownership/reading notes are present as photographed.
