Antique Edwardian Brass Spirit Alcohol Burner Patent Adjuster Chafing Dish c1905

Antique brass spirit / alcohol burner, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1915.

A particularly well-made example with a broad circular fuel reservoir and an unusual side-operated flame/wick regulating mechanism. The long brass spindle terminates in a finely knurled control knob stamped “PATENT”.

The burner also retains its hinged snuffer cap, which lifts to expose the central burner/wick.

This type of adjustable spirit burner was produced for use beneath chafing dishes, table warmers, kettles and similar serving/heating equipment. The substantial low-profile reservoir provides a stable base, while the extended control allows the flame to be adjusted from the side.
