Rue Mahmoudieh Alexandria Egypt Street Scene Palm Tree c1870s VTG Photo

This is an albumen photograph that is mounted onto a thick paper page taken from a photo album and is 10 x 7½ inches (254x190mm).

It shows a wide dirt road known as Rue Mahmoudieh in Alexandria, Egypt. Three figures wearing long traditional robes stand in the foreground near the edge of the road. A large palm tree dominates the right side of the composition. The street is lined with various structures, ranging from simple wooden and mud buildings in the foreground to more substantial multi-storey buildings in the distance. A faint number '25' is visible in the top left corner of the image. The mount features a handwritten caption reading 'Rue Mahmoudieh a Alexandrie'.

Please add everything to your basket and pay in a single checkout to combine postage.

Overseas buyers – please note: international postage is priced by weight. If you buy several items, eBay often thinks the parcel is much heavier than it really is, so the postage can be too high. Please message me before you pay, so I can help — after you pay, eBay locks the order and I cannot change it.
