A fantastic, 100% complete post-war late 1940s Hornby Dublo 3-Rail operational train circuit manufactured by Meccano Ltd in Liverpool, England. This layout features the less common black livery variation of the iconic N2 Tank locomotive, a complete three-car LNER freight train lineup, and a full 10-piece starter track oval layout. Perfect as a ready-to-run vintage setup or a major addition to an existing layout.

Locomotive Condition

• Model: Hornby Dublo EDL7 0-6-2T Class N2 Tank Locomotive.
• Livery: LNER Black with gold and red lettering (Running Number 9596).
• Mechanics: Fully tested via a 9V battery supply and confirmed to be in excellent running health. The drive wheels and high-grade internal brass gears rotate smoothly and freely.
• Cosmetics: Honestly listed in play-worn condition with genuine vintage patina. There is paint chipping/loss on the right side of the boiler shell and the front smokebox door, along with a circular surface finish blemish on top of the boiler from historical storage. The rear Meccano plate remains completely intact.

• 1x LNER Goods Brake Van (Brown/White Roof, NE 178717): The highly desirable end-of-train car. Features sharp side lithography and a straight white roof with minor age-toning. The metal wheels show typical storage oxidation/bloom and will benefit from a light clean.
• 1x LNER Goods Box Van (Brown, NE 182153): Displays excellent, vibrant wood-plank side lithography. Please note that both corrugated end panels feature a vertical cosmetic scratch (as pictured). The wheels and chassis are clean.
• 1x LNER 5-Plank Open Wagon (Grey, NE 404844): In exceptional condition. The interior bed, grey side panels, and end panels are remarkably clean with crisp factory lettering.All three wagons feature authentic heavy-gauge diecast metal bases stamped with "Hornby Meccano Ltd" and complete post-war drop-link couplers.

• Layout: Full starter oval layout consisting of exactly 8x Curves and 2x Straights.
Special Components: Includes both a straight track power terminal section and a rare curved track power terminal section featuring side electrical attachment tabs.

Condition:

Structurally intact with excellent metal connection pins ensuring a flush fit. Rails show very minor, age-typical tarnish but retain crisp gold factory markings underneath.

Housed in the original lower cardboard inner tray with partition slots intact.
