5 Antique Victorian Hand Forged Iron Coat Hooks Architectural Salvage c1900

Description

Collection of five antique wrought/forged iron wall hooks, dating from the late Victorian / Edwardian period, approximately c.1880–1910.

A particularly attractive group of substantial period architectural ironmongery, comprising two long straight hooks with decorative finial terminals and shaped three-hole backplates, two large curved ball-ended hooks, and one double wall hook.

The two long examples are closely related in design, with one retaining remnants of its old black painted finish. The hand-worked construction, slight variations in form and aged surfaces give the group considerable character.

Likely originally used as coat, hat, cloakroom or general-purpose wall hooks in a Victorian/Edwardian domestic, institutional or commercial interior.

The longest measures approximately 16cm overall, as shown against the tape.

Good untouched antique condition with expected surface oxidation, old paint remnants, wear and patination. No fixing screws included. Please see photographs
