The M-UMR3.5 Precision Double-Row Ball Bearing Metric Linear Stage features steel construction for high stability and rigidity. The ball bearings and precision-ground bearing surfaces provide exceptional linear travel, with an angular deviation <100 µrad. UMR3 Series Stages have double-row ball bearings making them an excellent choice for carrying high loads up to 600 N The moving carriage is preloaded by two springs to ensure constant micrometer contact for smooth, backlash-free motion over a 5 mm travel range.


Ball bearing slides provide smoother translation from a rolling motion. Ball bearings are captured in guide ways by means of hardened steel rods with a gothic profile. This creates only two points of contact for minimal friction, and provides extremely smooth travel for even the smallest of incremental movements. Fewer points of contact also mean less differential slip and provide higher load capacities compared to the 4-point contact of other ball-bearing designs. The lower differential slip keeps friction and wear minimal, adding to the durability and lifetime of these stages.


The BM11.5 Micrometer features micron-scale resolution and very smooth motion for precision positioning applications. It has a 5 mm travel range and with axial load capacity of 40 N. BM micrometers, which mount via their threaded bezel and are held in place with a threaded collar, are the standard choice of actuator on UMR and MVN Series Stages and on SL Series Mirror Mounts.
