This auction is for an exceptional antique French gilt bronze (ormolu) jewelry casket featuring an exquisite hand painted portrait plaque of a young woman framed by elaborate Rococo Revival metal ornamental work.  This elegant French vanity box showcases rich gilt bronze/brass construction ornate floral and foliate relief decoration, flower garlands and beaded border and decorative corner mounts, and cabriole feet with scroll details.  This box measures 3 7/8" tall and about 5 1/8" across.  The hand painted portrait is fabulous.  I can see no signatures or marks on the box.  It is beautiful and quite a treasure!  PLEASE NOTE:  Although all my listings will be marked that returns are not accepted (due to eBay's change of policy from 14 day returns to 30 days).
