A Dutch 1950's Vintage Veiligglas Opaque Marble

This Veiligglas Opaque marble has a unique abstract pattern, with a rare colour presentation from the famous marble company: a light blue semi-translucent base features rich cobalt, cool green and a lovely shade of mauve which is not often seen in Veiligglas.
Made in the 1950s era at the Amsterdam Veiligglas Factory, Opaques such as this one are harder to find than the Veiligglas Wirepull type. With their varied and intricately detailed patterns, attractive 'swirls and tails,' and the milky opacity of their base glass, this interesting class make simple but beautiful pieces. They are becoming harder to find and increasingly desirable. An appealing example of the fantastic range of Dutch produced vintage marbles.
