On offer here we have a very pretty vintage 15-piece china
doll’s tea set that is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks,
although some of the pieces have lightly crazed over the years. I believe it to
have been made during the 1950s by Ellar, but I have no definite proof of this,
since the backstamps simply read “Made in England”. However, I do have another
boxed Ellar tea set that has many of the same features, even though the designs
are different.
The tea set comprises the following pieces with approximate
sizes…
·
Tea pot -
8cm diameter x 11cm high
·
Milk jug – 6cm diameter x 6cm high
·
Sugar basin – 8cm diameter x 4cm high
·
Plate (4 off) – 11½cm diameter
·
Saucer (4 off) – 10cm diameter
·
Cup (4 off) – 6½cm diameter x 5cm high
Although the set is unboxed, it would still make a nice
present for a favourite child / grandchild or could even be a donor of
replacement pieces missing from an existing cherished set. Personal collection
would be welcomed.
