Up for sale is an exceptional antique technical drawing and drafting instrument set produced by the renowned British manufacturer, A. West & Partners Ltd. This specific set carries the highly desirable "Contractors to H.M. Government" designation. This historic stamp proves that the set was manufactured under strict contract for British government departments, public works, or the military. Toys and commercial sets did not receive this marking; it was reserved exclusively for professional-grade tools built to rigorous government precision standards.

Condition: Vintage / Used as shown in the photos.
  • Completeness: The first is nearly complete. It retains the vast majority of its original drafting tools. The second is incomplete and missing several parts. The adjustment screws and thumbwheels still turn smoothly.
  • Metal Finish: The instruments do not retain their bright or polished finish. They feature a natural, darkened, or tarnished aged patina. This look is highly preferred by collectors who appreciate untouched, original antique surfaces.
  • Case: The original protective case is structurally sound, and the closure latches function properly. The interior velvet lining shows light wear and impressions from the tools, as expected with a genuine historical set.

    Do you post internationally?
    We use the eBay Global Shipping Programme to send items internationally. 

    Can you provide additional pictures of items? 
    Once our items are listed on eBay they are placed in storage to keep them safe until the auction ends. This means that we are unable to take additional pictures on request. 

    Do you offer combined postage? 
    If you would like us to combine postage, please contact us after the auctions end. DO NOT pay for the items as we are unable to refund postage costs once items have been paid for. We combine items based on weight and size. It isn't always possible to combine larger items. 

    Payment 
    We request that payment is made within 7 days of the auction ending. 

    Delivery
    All items are dispatched within 3 working days of receiving payment. Items are sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class (untracked) or Evri for larger items, if you require a different service this can be arranged prior to payment being made.

    Please note the Royal Mail 2nd Class service used is not a trackable service whilst in transit but provides an update once an attempted delivery has been made.

    For orders over £100 we use Royal Mail Tracked 48.
