This auction is for a John Fogerty/Creedence Clearwater Revival/Blue Ridge Rangers CD Lot. All have been tested. 

John Fogerty: The Blue Ridge Rangers: The CD is in very good to like new condition. The jewel case and inserts are complete and in good condition. 

With wonderfully chosen songs like "Hearts of Stone" and George Jones' classic country weeper "She Thinks I Still Care," John Fogerty's solo debut with The Blue Ridge Rangers has held up well over the last two decades. It isn't the most supple or technically proficient one-man recording of all time, but it's a wonderfully engaging record; upbeat, unpretentious, and loaded with good songs. 

In retrospect, this was a tremendously risky record to make; country music in the early '70s was regarded as the domain of right-wing, rock & roll-hating Nashville traditionalists, and it was reasonable to assume that fans (even staunch ones) wouldn't take kindly to this genre switch. While it wasn't a huge success, it was in no way a disaster, and perhaps more importantly, served as a much-needed rock & roll history lesson. 

John Fogerty - Centerfield: The CD is in very good to like new condition. The jewel case and inserts are complete and in good condition. 

The first half of the album is simply stellar, pure John Fogerty, pure CCR, pure Americana, ranging from classic swamp rock ("The Old Man Down The Road") to old time rock and roll ("I'm left, You're Right, She's Gone" ehm... Big Train From Memphis) to revival rock and roll (the very "My Best Friend's Girlfriend"-like "Rock and Roll Girls) to early seventies hard rock ("Mr. Greed") to soft rock (the wonderful Proud Mary-meets-The Deluge "I Saw It On T.V."); I don't always trust Rolling Stone's retro-rock affections (I found this album on their official Eighties "best-of" ranking) but after finishing side one I was genuinely amazed and positively surprised, it really did seem like listening to late Sixties music that we all old souls belove, further aided and augmented by the better production values affordable in the Eighties.

John Fogerty - Eye of the Zombie:  The CD is in very good to like new condition. The jewel case and inserts are complete and in good condition. 

Eye of the Zombie is a very angry album, finding Fogerty railing against all manners of ‘80s evils, whether it’s crass consumerism, blaring headlines, or the violent policies they chronicle. Instead of pairing this doom to some swampy choogle, Fogerty sets it to too-tight synth rhythms and encases it in glassy production that not only is the antithesis of his rage, it undoes otherwise amiable cuts like the seemingly sunny soul-pop “Knockin’ on Your Door.” Track for track, it’s a misfire of staggering proportions, one that halted Fogerty’s comeback and sent him back into seclusion for another decade.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicles: The 20 Greatest Hits:  The CD is in very good condition. There are some light scratches but the CD plays without a problem. The jewel case and inserts are complete and in good condition. 

It's a lean, concise collection that tells you everything you need to know about Creedence. Several of the band's individual albums are essential, but Chronicle is not only an excellent introduction to the group, it offers definitive proof that the group was one of the definitive singles' bands of the late '60s. Rarely has a greatest- hits collection been so well-assembled. [The compact disc edition is hampered by the inclusion of the full-length, 11-minute album version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine"; its presence slows down the momentum of the collection considerably.
