Vintage carnival chalkware refers to molded plaster of Paris figurines, often painted with bright airbrushed colors, that were used as cheap prizes at carnival games, boardwalk amusement parks and circuses, particularly in the United States from the 1920's through the 1960's. They were the predecessors to modern plush stuffed animals and are highly collectible today as examples of American pop-culture folk art.
