ITEM DESCRIPTION

Genuine Gibson humbucker, most likely a 1990s '57 Classic, pulled from the neck position of a 1990s full hollow body (hollowbody archtop). In that guitar it sounded excellent, with a remarkably clear and open character. DCR reads 8.84k.

Because the resistance is a little on the high side, there is a possibility this is actually a '57 Classic Plus (the slightly overwound version). However, in my personal opinion it is a standard '57 Classic. It is also worth noting that this pickup was stored in a very hot room, so the slightly elevated DCR may simply fall within the normal tolerance of a '57 Classic. Either way, despite the relatively high DCR, the tone was clear, open, and very musical.

This pickup is completely original and unmodified:

• The lead wire is original, measuring 24.5 cm (about 9.6 inches).
• The magnet (Alnico 2) is original and has not been swapped.

Like many vintage Gibson pickups, the bobbins are slightly warped, but this does not affect use or function in any way.

The sticker on the underside has unfortunately peeled off. However, I can personally guarantee that this is a genuine Gibson pickup.
