This is an original antique engraved print, taken from an antiquarian book (Ref VOL VI) dating to the 1870s. The plate is titled “Fortification (4) – Permanent Fortification” and illustrates the structure and style of ancient and modern fortress designs.
The reverse side is clear of text, and the print has been carefully removed from its binding. Tiny pinholes along the left edge are present from original stitching—these will not show once framed.
Some age-related discolouration and small marks are visible, as expected for a piece over 135 years old, and contribute to its authentic vintage charm once mounted.
