Victorian era heirloom christening gown, likely dating from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Handmade from fine, lightweight white cotton. The bodice and hem display intricate Broderie Anglaise (eyelet lace) and openwork whitework embroidery.
Seller has hand washed in mild detergent and pressed. This beautiful christening gown does show signs of aging such as small areas of discoloration and a few very small holes. There are 3 areas that were previously patched.
Approximate measurements: Neck opening - 8 3/4”, arm openings 6.5”, 41.5” from the front of the neck to the bottom hem.
