Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage ROLA 10 inch full-range driver, USA-manufactured in 1973. As you probably know, ROLA was a notable supplier to the domestic speaker industry from the 1960’s through 1980’s. Per the EIA source/date code, “2857338”, this driver was made by ROLA (285) in the 38th week of 1973.
Please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this superb ROLA speaker is correct for your needs.

This ROLA full range driver is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy ribbed, seamed paper cone is in perfect shape with just one tiny scuff and the fabric voice coil dust cap has no dimples or dings. Plus, this speaker features an ancillary or “whizzer” cone to enhance the high frequency response and it has a small, faint edge crease.
Also, the surround is integral pleated paper—effectively permanent—instead of the fragile foam that was in widespread use at the time it was made. And, the black-enameled steel basket is in great shape with no dents, true scratches, or rust, just some storage scuffs on the magnet cover plate, as pictured.
What’s more, the ‘double-type’ +/- terminals measure the standard .205” and are marked for polarity. I’ve left a length of the input wires soldered to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience in splicing-in to their system, which can simply be snipped off if planning to use the bare terminals. Overall, this ROLA driver is exceptionally well-preserved.

Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds great with clear, fast mid frequencies, solid low end, and highs at the threshold of audibility. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 14.2Ω consistent with a nominal 16 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 10⅜” diameter, it stands 4” tall, and the four-corner mounting holes are spaced 7” adjacent / 9¾” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
So, as pictured and described, this remarkable ROLA 10” full-range driver is offered at a competitive price.
