Maintrack Hangar Productions 1:72 scale Project-X Rockwell XFV-12A Vacform Kit. Incudes decals and White Metal Parts. Factory Sealed.
The Rockwell XFV-12A was an experimental prototype fighter built in 1977 for the United States Navy that attempted to combine Mach 2 supersonic speed with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities. It is famously known in aviation history as the VTOL aircraft that could not actually fly vertically, leading to its cancellation in 1981 after severe performance shortfalls and cost overruns. Designed to operate from the Navy's proposed small "Sea Control Ships," the aircraft was intended to surpass the subsonic British Hawker Siddeley Harrier. However, it never advanced beyond tethered hover testing.
