CONDITION REPORT: This vintage surge tank is in exceptional "Used - Like New" condition. It appears virtually uninstalled, retaining clean channels and a highly preserved factory black finish with only minor cosmetic storage characteristics.

Up for sale is a remarkably clean, factory-original (OEM) radiator coolant expansion surge tank for premium 1961 to 1965 Ford and Mercury full-size vehicle lines running high-performance FE big-block V8 engines (including 352, 390, 406, and 427 configurations). This unit features the distinct, crisp factory stamping code C5ME-8A080A directly on its body framework. Finding unpitted, straight original steel surge tanks that aren't plagued by deep internal rot or nasty patch welds is incredibly difficult. This highly preserved survivor core is ready to bolt right up to a high-end local driver or period-correct muscle car build.

• Structural Integrity: Absolutely solid. The tank is physically straight, rigid, and free of any dent damage, crushed ports, or past structural re-welds. Channels and seams are crisp and clean.
• Exterior Finish: Holds a fantastic, deep factory black color. Due to decades of shelf storage outside of a box, very light cosmetic surface discoloration and minor scuffing are present. Features very minimal, faint paint "runs" from the original factory dip-coating process.
• Internal State: Strikingly clean inside. Shows only trace, very minor faint discoloration spotting from storage age, completely free of heavy internal scaling or rotting.
