Offered for your consideration is a pair of Realistic Cat. No. 1016 3 inch full-range drivers, removed from a pair of Minimus 3.5 speakers manufactured in Japan c.1980. The 1016 drivers were also used in later Optimus and possibly other Radio Shack single driver speakers from the 1980’s-early 90’s, though they were sourced from South Korea by then. The Japanese-made version is more desirable. Plus, they’re ready for action in your next speaker-building project such as a center channel, etc.
So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these capable Realistic drivers should be yours.

These Realistic drivers are in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cones are in perfect shape and so are the voice coil dustcaps. Plus, they have permanent inverted surrounds which are flawless as well. Also, the black-enameled steel baskets have no dings, scratches, or noted oxidation just a hint of finish wear at a few mount holes. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, these drivers are very nicely preserved.

Most importantly, they’ve been fully tested and sound great—fast, detailed midrange, highs approaching the threshold of audibility, and good bass extension for the small platform size. And, I tested their DC resistance at a 6.9-7.2Ω, right in line with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the baskets measure 33/16” across (3⅞” at the corners), they stand about 1½” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 29/16” adjacent / 3⅝” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
