2026 Ascension Island $1 1-Oz Silver Jody Clark’s Light Of Liberty BU

This 2026 Ascension Island $1 One-Ounce Silver Jody Clark’s Light of Liberty is the third and final release in a trilogy of coins. Just 5,000 of these 99.9% silver coins were struck!

The Statue of Liberty is an iconic symbol known throughout the world. To the millions of immigrants who sailed past the colossal statue in New York Harbor, she embodied hope, opportunity, and freedom. A physical, albeit large representation of Lady Liberty, her 100th anniversary inspired the U.S. Mint’s wildly successful Silver Eagle coin program that debuted in 1986. With a reverse image designed by the incomparable John Mercanti, the former 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, Silver Eagles are among the world’s most popular and heavily collected silver coins.

A WORLD VIEW OF AMERICA’S LADY LIBERTY

But how does the rest of the world view America’s Lady Liberty? The answer has been revealed in a three-part series with designs created by a trio of the world’s most dynamic designers: The Commonwealth Mint’s Jody Clark, The Royal Canadian Mint’s Susan Taylor, and the South African Mint’s Natanya Van Niekerk. Here you can secure the third—and final—release in the series, a one-ounce coin struck in highly pure 99.9% fine silver designed by Jody Clark that shows Lady Liberty in a whole new light. She’s depicted in a Greco-Roman style gown holding a burning torch—the Light of Liberty—that represents America as a beacon of freedom to the world. Beside her, a large bald eagle stands proud and protective.

INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED DESIGNER JODY CLARK

Jody Clark has earned international acclaim for his richly detailed coin designs, securing a place among the most respected artists in modern minting. He joined The Royal Mint in 2012 where he achieved global fame in 2015 when his design was selected for the final definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, making him the youngest artist to create a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Since leaving The Royal Mint in 2020, he has taken the reins as Head of Design at Great Britain’s Commonwealth Mint, where he has honed his reputation as a master of ultra-high relief coin sculpting.

This Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin is also $1 legal tender on Ascension Island; a British Overseas Territory located midway between the coast of Africa and the coast of Brazil and is limited to a mintage of just 5,000 coins for worldwide release. It comes in a black velvet pouch and accompanied by a mint-issued certificate of authenticity. With its theme and collaboration between some of the world’s greatest coin designers, this limited mintage seems much too small to please everyone who would like to make this coin part of their collection.
