We are very pleased to offer an awesome and legendary 1971 Ford Escort MK1 RS 2000 Recreation. If you are already reading this advert then you will already have a passion for these amazing cars that continue to thrill not only with the driving experience but also the huge amounts of Kudos you receive wherever you take it, these cars have the ability to stop people in there tracks, people adore a MK1 Escort. This example has been loved and cherished for 23 years by the previous owner who is one of only 5 previous owners in 55 years. It is accompanied with a detailed service history folder highlighting its cherished life.

As you can see from the images it has been given those awesome RS 2000 looks and it also has the handling and performance to match whilst being an Escort that is ready to be used, driven and enjoyed. Briefly the spec comprises of Mexico front wings, Mexico front panel, rear arches and top flitch plates. 6 "J" Capri Laser Alloys with five matching Pirelli P6000 tyres, 2.0 litre pinto with a fast road cam and a 323/36 twin choke weber, type 9, 5 speed gearbox, 3.54 RS 2000 Diff, RS alloy bell housing and sump pick up pipe, 2.8 Bilsteins, new discs and pads, servo brakes, correct 8 inch rear drums, Kenlowe electric fan. Munroe shocks and de-cambered springs, Ashley exhaust, 6 clock 140 MPH twin cam cluster, battery relocated in the boot and the all important RS decals and badges. The shell was Ziebart wax injected from new and is in excellent condition with fantastic panel gaps all round.

On the road this MK1 has a very special feel. The Pinto engine is near silent, It starts and settles very quickly with strong oil pressure It has instant power and instant noise with an instant buzz thrown in for good measure. The type 9 gearbox is precise and offers relaxed cruising with that very handy 5th gear. The Escort is very easy to drive at any speed and when pushed thanks to the fast road cam it really comes alive with oodles of power with a real power band feeling, the handling is precise and the whole package feels very well set up and ready for any road. What you will be doing is smiling.

The interior is finished to a very high standard with matching black front and rear seats and excellent door cards. It has the correct putty material roof lining and that 6 clock Twin Cam dash and RS 3 spoke steering wheel. The boot area is very well presented and the engine bay is nicely detailed.

The Escort has a very solid shell and is also very solid underneath. The paintwork is gleaming and virtually blemish free and the whole package belies its vintage. It has been an absolute pleasure preparing this awesome machine and an even bigger thrill to drive it. It offers its lucky new owner the chance to enjoy the hugely popular and ever growing Classic Ford scene.

The MK1 is fully serviced, checked and driven and has a full no advisory MOT and is also MOT and Tax exempt.
