Giacomo Maria Martinelli, former assistant [coadiutore] and scribe at the Criminal Office of this Magnificent City, has presented the review and accounting of the liquidation process.
It has been formally intimated and ordered to Signor Angelo Sadoi, an officer of the courts, to execute, follow, and carry out the order and public proclamation issued in May 1709 in favor of the said Martinelli, exactly as it is detailed in the text of the decree. Any false assumptions, misrepresentations, or misunderstandings regarding this matter are to be entirely set aside, ensuring that the case is handled with the utmost individual justice, caution, and proper administrative care.
The said Martinelli has been for a long time a debtor to the public treasury [publica cassa] for the outstanding balance and sums regarding the public tithes [decime], as explicitly recorded and verified in the master criminal registry books of my chancellery. Despite the urgent nature of public affairs and the thorough evaluation of these accounts, the acting official must proceed with absolute care so that the public interest is protected and the treasury suffers no delays or setbacks regarding the resolution of this matter.
I am not, however, including in this present calculation or total balance the specific accounts regarding the deaths [mortuorii] of Martinelli, as they were not explicitly covered or named in the previously cited final determination issued by the Magistrate.

...the position of scribe, which he holds as a writer or Notary to the criminal court, to whom no standard fixed salary is assigned by the state, but who on the contrary has liquidated his rights and income directly from the collections of the aforementioned tithes.
To Your Illustrious Lordships, to whom it falls by virtue of your office [ex officio] to examine, review, and judge this respectful report, I formally assure and declare that I shall promote the public interest with the utmost diligence, committing myself entirely to what is deemed most legally appropriate. Furthermore, I shall ensure that the said Martinelli is given immediate and full formal notice of the present fact and decree, all in total compliance with the directives of Your Illustrious Lordships.
