“ENCOUNTER”, 1969 SIGNED ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING BY AMERICAN ARTIST ROBERT WATSON (1923-2004)               

Robert Watson is known for his surreal art and this large original oil painting on canvas is a fine example of the artist’s work. The painting is signed and dated by the artist lower right corner: R WATSON 69. 

The canvas size measures 24 x 28 inches. The painting comes with the original gallery frame. The frame measures 32 3/4 x 36 3/4 inches.                

CONDITION: The painting is in excellent original condition. The frame has the slightest hint of wear.             

Robert Watson, born in Martinez, California, is often referred to as a surrealist and a neo-romanticist artist. Watson spent several years in New York City in the early 1940’s studying the works of the old masters at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He favored the technique developed by the Venetian masters of the underlying of hot color with cold color and vice versa.

3. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE GLASS FROM FRAMED ARTWORK TO PREVENT ARTWORK FROM GETTING DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE, WITH SMALLER FRAMED ARTWORK I WILL PLACE TAPE ALL OVER THE GLASS FOR PROTECTION.

Shipping prices quoted include packaging in corrugated box with bubble wrap and/or peanuts. For larger or expensive works of art a crate may be ordered. Insurance is required on all art shipments. Buyers pay for insured shipping. I do not ship my items for free. I prefer shipping items via USPS PRIORITY MAIL but with larger items I will ship via UPS.

I will try my best to keep the shipping costs to a minimum, however, please be aware that I am concerned with using the correct materials for proper packaging of the artwork so that it will arrive safe & sound.
