In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper.

John Buchan offers a detailed historical biography of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose, a royalist commander during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.

Buchan presents Montrose as a chivalric and tragic figure, highlighting his military genius and personal honour. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece, one plate, and eleven maps. Collated, complete.
 

CONDITION

 

 

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Dust wrapper back strip age toned, with light edgewear to back strip head and tail, and minor closed tears to fold over front flyleaf. Small neat reinforcements to head and tail of dust wrapper reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page head, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
