This car was originally used by the Police in Coventry and was one of two given to them by Peugeot (see pic.).
I understand the car was then gifted to Coventry University and the students were let loose on it which is possibly when it lost the original drive electronics and NiCad traction battery. In 2002 it was placed in a barn by the Uni and forgotten about.

I purchased the car as a non runner in 2024 and installed a Nissan Leaf drive unit complete with charger/inverter/DC-DC power supply and a new 30kWh Lithium traction battery protected by an Orion 2 BMS.
The Nissan Leaf drive unit has a Zombiverter ECU from Openinverter.
The Lithium traction battery consists of 12 x 22v 114Ah CATL modules that are liquid cooled and mounted in a steel enclosure at the rear in the original position.
A Danfoss display is installed that displays various data from the Orion BMS/traction battery along with the State Of Charge which is also on the original instrument panel.

Charging is by a Type 2 socket at 7kW.
Type 2 charge lead and also a 13A "Granny lead" is included.

Original power was 11kW (22kW maximum) with 0-30mph of 8.3 seconds and top speed of 56mph plus a 50 mile range!
With the Nissan Leaf power unit it is far quicker and the top speed is limited electronically to around 80mph.
The range is conservatively rated to over 100 miles.
New tyres and brakes all round.
The build manual will be supplied to the buyer.

I have been converting cars since my first, a Lotus Elise in 2008. Since then I built an EV kit car in 2012 since sold, and also have a Lotus Evora with Tesla drive unit along with electric ride on mowers and converted Ducati motorcycle.
Its my hobby.
