     All natural finish, and a high quality finish with smooth chamfered edges (many placemats  on the market are rough edged and have uneven surfaces, with sharp edges, which is unsightly and dangerous).

Our products are manufactured from raw blocks of Welsh slate which is over 500 million years old and is of the finest quality. It can be sawn, cored and hand cleaved to a thickness of only 2mm. The riven surface is so fine it can be screen printed in one or several colours. Slate lends itself for polishing, giving a razor sharp print of the finest detail.
