This Wren of Shakespeare is one of Royal Crown Derby's newest additions to their range of paperweights - celebrating the life of William Shakespeare (April 1564 to 23 April 1616). The Wren is inspired by the 'Wren with little quill' referred to in the play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and the decoration is inspired by the exquisite gentleman's nightcap (dated c. 1610) held by 'The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust'.
