Vintage WWI American Expeditionary Forces correspondence lot belonging to Lt. H.L. Garrett, including three original letters and two original mailing envelopes dating from 1915–1918.

The group includes wartime AEF correspondence written from France and Germany following the end of World War I, including YMCA “On Active Service With The American Expeditionary Forces” stationery, military envelope with censor marking, and personal handwritten letters discussing combat, the Armistice, travel through Europe, and occupation duty in Germany.

Content references include the St. Mihiel offensive, being wounded during battle, General Ferdinand Foch, postwar Germany, Roman ruins, and reflections on returning home after the war. One letter discusses time spent in Paris, Nice, and Italy after the Armistice.

Also included is an earlier 1915 typed and signed Talladega Base Ball Association letter on official Georgia-Alabama League stationery signed “Tige,” adding an interesting prewar baseball connection to the group.

Condition varies with age and handling. Fold lines, toning, edge wear, and general age-related wear throughout. Overall a very personal and historically interesting WWI correspondence group with strong readable content and excellent display appeal.
