Interior-Painted Clear Glass / Nei Hua / Bird and Flower Snuff Bottle

An ovoid snuff bottle in clear glass with a faint celadon tint, interior-painted (nei hua) in polychrome with a naturalistic bird-and-flower composition: a small songbird perches on an autumn branch amid orange lilies, yellow blossoms, and blue-green foliage above a scholar's rock, all rendered with fine brushwork against the pale ground. The reverse depicts a complementary arrangement of flowering branches and garden plants. Fitted with a red-orange carnelian or glass stopper on a cork, with original interior spoon missing.
