Great for serving as a side or base for grain bowls
ffer your customers a nutritious alternative to rice with this tri-color quinoa! Quinoa is an ancient grain that has been
cultivated in South America for thousands of years, and while it is
actually a pseudocereal (instead of a true cereal like wheat and rice),
it is a flavorful, healthy alternative to other grains. It has small,
round grains with a tender yet chewy texture. This tri-color quinoa
offers a hearty, nutty flavor and a festive mix of red, white, and black
grains. This grain is also high in protein, making it a delicious,
nutritious side, base for grain bowls, or ingredient in soups, stews,
and salads!
This tri-color quinoa comes uncooked, so be sure to
rinse it thoroughly under cold water before cooking to remove any
powdery residue that may be present. To cook, use 2 parts of water or
stock for every 1 part of quinoa. Combine the rinsed quinoa and water in
a pot and bring it to a boil. Once it's boiling, reduce the heat to low
and cover the pot, allowing the quinoa to simmer for about 15 minutes.
Once cooked, fluff the quinoa with a fork and enjoy! This will keep your establishment well stocked with this healthy, popular
product.
