Socrates (Alopecia, Ancient Athens, 470 BC / 469 - Ancient Athens, 399 BC) was a Greek Athenian philosopher, one of the most important figures in Greek and world spirit and culture, and one of the founders. of Western philosophy.

Indicative of its importance for Ancient Greek philosophy is that all Greek philosophers before him were called Presocratics. There are countless scholars who have dealt with Socrates in the centuries since his death, many of whom are particularly famous, so that W.K.C. At the age of 17, he met the philosopher Archelaus, who passed on his passion for philosophy and persuaded him to dedicate himself to it. A deeper psychological aspect is revealed by Plato, who in his Apology presents Socrates to consider philosophical pursuit as a divine command. Here Socrates can be described as divinely inspired, as he mentions his strong instinct, as an inner impulse, to dictate to him what actions and occupations he must follow. In fact, he stated that he heard a voice inside him that prevented him from doing what was not right, which voice he called "demon".
