Vintage French roof slate decorated with a decorative gilded lozenge, and classic French typography inspired by early 20th century bouteille de parfum graphics and old Parisian shop fronts, and SEE LAST THREE IMAGES..

Having already performed a lifetime of service on a French rooftop, this distressed slate has recently been repurposed with the addition of graphics inspired by antique French perfume labels, Parisian cafe society and shop front graphics at the turn of the last century. LAST THREE IMAGES.

The inscription reads: LIT & PETIT DÉJEUNER Cheval Blanc Hotel 1878 PARIS No. 15 RUE DE ROYALE. Central to the design is a highly decorative gilded oval lozenge. Traditional string attached to the top edge for hanging.

Using skills acquired over a lifetime of gainful employment, the gilded graphics have been applied with both precision and permanence, by a highly accomplished, retired English signwriter. 

Although presented here on an artist's easel, it would certainly be more at home hung against a Farrow & Ball decorated contemporary interior space. Displayed as a work of art in its own right, as it were.
