A vintage pair of Italian, toleware gilt and cream two-light wall sconces. Classic two-armed, with generous floral bouquet from a wooden urn. Hand-wrought sheet metal on a wooden backplate. 1945-1960.
These vintage Italian enameled metal toleware, floral bouquet wall sconces in the Louis XVI / Rococo style would have been made in one of the Italian lighting workshops in the Veneto region or perhaps Florence.
The well-proportioned floral bouquet was a very popular motif in mid-century Italian lighting. The pale cream stems of flowers with gilded leaves characteristic of 60s pieces sold through high end retailers like Liberty’s and Harrods.
These are structurally sound with minor expected wear to the metalwork. Not PAT tested, so you may wish to have the original wiring checked by an electrician and possibly replaced with a modern 3-core flex by an electrician?
Please look carefully at the images as they form part of the description.
