An excellent overview of the Hundred Years War (1337-1453) between England and France which, despite some victories etched into British culture (Crecy, Poitiers and Agincourt), eventually bankrupted the English government and lost it all its former possessions in France. It indirectly led to the Wars of the Roses, which created turmoil in England for 30 years, until Richard III was defeated by the Tudors at Bosworth Field. Not a pleasant war, with much savagery on both sides, but one which led to several hundred years of enmity between the two nations, which still occasionally bubbles to the surface even now. This 1999 Trade Paperback  is in good condition, with no internal markings and a cover with minor wear.
