Therefore, check the knob setting before use to ensure it is suitable for the liquid being mixed; if the correct speed cannot be determined, turn the knob to the lowest setting (mark 1). If the mixer has not been used for some time, you may hear a friction noise when first turning it on. This is caused by the pre-tension in the friction wheel lining and does not affect the mixer’s functionality; the noise will disappear after a short period of operation. The drill chuck and mixing shaft can accommodate mixing rods with a maximum diameter of 10 mm. This unit achieves stepless speed control via a friction wheel drive system, but the motor always operates at a fixed operating point where its power output, speed, and torque reach optimal values and remain essentially constant. Power is transmitted to the mixing shaft via the friction wheel and a central shaft equipped with a pair of plastic couplers. Two gear sets are mounted on the same two shafts to provide two manually adjustable speed settings. If power losses during transmission are ignored, the power at the stirrer shaft end is always equal to the motor output. A pair of helical couplers on the central shaft keeps friction at the friction wheels to a minimum. The couplers automatically adjust the required pressure on the friction wheels based on the load on the stirrer shaft; low loads result in low pressure, while high loads result in high pressure. When shifting gears during experiments, pay attention to the position of the stirrer head and the size of the container, especially glass containers. The stirrer must be turned off before shifting gears; otherwise, the reduction gears may be damaged. This unit has two speed settings: Speed I is low speed, and Speed II is high speed. The default setting is Speed II. To shift from Speed II to Speed I, turn the plastic bearing sleeve counterclockwise (as viewed from above) until it stops. Pull it down 5.5 mm, then rotate it clockwise until you hear the steel balls inside the bearing sleeve click into place. To switch from Speed I to Speed II, rotate the bearing sleeve counterclockwise to the stop position, push it up 5.5 mm, then rotate it clockwise until you hear the steel balls click into place.
