Vintage  silver plated Cornet  manufactured  by UK maker Boosey & Hawkes that comes with a mouthpiece and case. Made of brass with a silver plated finish. this imperial model Cornet was the leading instrument at the time of manufacture. The F.V.A. refers to " Floating Valve Action. The cornet was originally made in high pitch. Nowadays instruments are constructed in "modern low pitch".

A simple method of adjusting an instrument from high-quality to low pitch, without the need to scraper the instrument, was to add small section of tubing to the slides. This method did not give a complete adjustment, but was deemed satisfactory  in school & learning bands.

It seems to be a free blowing instrument, but there does appear to be a air leak. There are some The valves are free. Im unable to pull any of the slides out apart from the 2nd valve slide.It comes with a mouthpiece &  Vintage case.
