Vintage Akro Agate Corkscrew Marble.

This collectible vintage machine-made marble is a corkscrew type with a distinctive swirl from seam to seam. It was made by the American 'Akro Agate' Company; which was in production between 1910 and 1951. They introduced many different types including single colour and opalescent 'Moonies', Oxblood swirls, slags, and a whole range of limeade, lemonade, carnelian, and other types. Their Corkscrew marbles are recognisable for the spiralling swirl, of which the Prize Names and Popeye types have several colours and wide bands. Several varieties are highly prized and the Akro Agate types are enjoyed by collectors.
