Arduno shield for testing 4164/4264 (64k x 1bit) & 41256 (256k x 1bit) DRAM that are found in retro computers like the ZX Spectrum, early breadbin Commodore 64 and many more.

Shield is compatible with Arduino UNO and Arduino Nano.

Setup for Nano, just plug in and program. (Arduino Not Supplied)


May have some marks from hand assembly and testing.

There are many suitable programs online that are compatible with this tester.



How to use:

Arduno needs to be programmed with a suitable sketch such as Kinetix Extended DRAMArduino code.

Set jumper to suit type of dram, Closed = 4164 or Open = 41256.
Install DRAM with pin 1 closest to zif lever
Connect a USB cable (not supplied)
Press Reset on the Arduino nano or Test button (Button on PCB For UNO use) and allow the test to complete.
Red or Green LED indicate test pass or fail

Swap DRAM and press reset/test to test another

Depending on code used, serial output may be available to view during testing.


Pin Headers NOT Included for Arduino UNO use.

Requires soldering appropriate pin headers to suit  Arduino UNO.
