Oil Reset：The CRP129 HD disel scanner helps reset the oil life reminder and turns off the oil indicator after an engine oil change.   This allows your car to recalculate another optimal oil life change interval, helping you avoid unintentionally exceeding your oil change interval.   By changing your oil on time, you can keep your engine healthier, more fuel efficient, running cooler, and prevent internal damage.

Injector Coding: This function allows you to write the new injector code for the corresponding cylinder, ensuring that the engine can accurately control the amount of fuel injection into each cylinder during operation.   It helps to match during replacement or repair to improve fuel economy and emission control effectiveness, ensure engine performance and longevity.

Speed Limit Reset：This function enables you to adjust or cancel the maximum vehicle speed limit.   The LAUNCH CRP129 HD allows you to adjust your truck's maximum speed according to local traffic regulations and road conditions, improving driving efficiency, reducing driver fatigue and increasing economy.   Note: It is crucial to maintain consistency between the maximum cruising speed and the maximum vehicle speed when adjusting the maximum vehicle speed.   The maximum speed adjustment will only take effect when these two speeds are kept consistent.

Clutch Learning：This function can relearn clutch values to ensure normal clutch operation, replacing gearbox or TCU.   Clutch learning optimises the performance of the clutch to ensure a smooth start and avoid sudden acceleration or stalling of the vehicle.   It also achieves smooth gear changes and reduces damage to the engine and transmission gears.   Furthermore, it prevents overloading of the transmission system to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.   This significantly improves driving comfort and safety.

Cylinder Cut-off/Compression Test：LAUNCH CRP129 HD diesel scanenr can cut off certain cylinder when the engine is running to identify which one is working improperly.   Users can judge whether certain cylinder is normal or not by separately cutting off certain cylinder and checking the working status of the engine.   The cylinder cut-off/compression test is an effective method of diagnosing engine faults.   If you interrupt the work of a cylinder, the engine speed and smoothness of a large change will indicate that the cylinder components work properly.   If there is no change or change is not significant, it can be concluded that the cylinder-related parts have problems.

Urea Drive (DEF)：Once the urea pump maintenance has been completed, the urea drive is to inject the urea solution into the catalytic converter in the exhaust system.   This reacts with NOx in the exhaust gas, decomposing it into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water vapour (H2O), thereby reducing the environmental impact of the truck's operation.   Secondly, the use of DEF allows trucks to comply with emissions standards, enabling them to operate legally without facing penalties or restrictions.   Furthermore, it enhances fuel efficiency and engine performance.

DPF Functions

What is DPF ?
A DPF, is an exhaust aftertreatment device that traps particulate matter such as soot and ash. A DPF typically uses a substrate made of a ceramic material that is formed into a honeycomb structure. In order to reduce emissions from diesel vehicles, DPF capture and store exhaust soot, which must be periodically burned off to regen the filter. The regen process burns off excess soot deposited in the filter, which prevents harmful exhaust emi-ssion and the black smoke you commonly see emitted from diesel vehicles when accelerating.

This heavy duty truck scanner diagnostic tool is available for you to achieve active(auto) regen, passive regen, DPF related information reset, DPR state reset, forced DPR regen, differential pressure test, DPD forced regen, etc.

Passive Regen
When you drive for a long time (20 to 30 minutes) at high speeds, the exhaust reaches very high temperatures. Driving at 70mph or above for a while will heat the exhaust enough to burn off the soot particles which have been trapped by the DPF. But most drivers to not drive at high speeds often enough or for enough time to rely on this passive regen to clear the DPF of soot particles.

Active Regen
Since many drivers do not use their cars to drive long distances on the motorway on a regular basis, manufacturers had to come up with a different way to clear the DPF of particles. They came up with a system in which active regen is activated when the amount of soot gathered in the DPF reaches a certain level. In most cars, this level is set at 45% of the DPF’s total capacity. When the soot gathered reaches this amount, it triggers the process of post combustion fuel injection which increases the temperature of the exhaust. This way, even if the car is not travelling at high speed, the exhaust becomes hot enough to burn off all of the soot which has collected in the DPF.

How long does a DPF regen take?
The DPF regen cycle takes approximately an hour and a half (1 1/2 hours) to complete and can be completed as part of a routine service.
