Wagner Ware Sidney O Square waffle iron with High base & bail handle. I rarely use the word “pristine”, however considering this piece was mfg in the 1890’s, this piece has earned that. Very little pitting overall. This piece sits flat. For every 100 round waffle irons you find, you’ll find one square waffle iron. They’re hard to find in good condition, and even harder to restore.

No cracks or repairs.

All pics were taken in natural daylight. Even tho parts of this piece may appear wet, it was lightly oiled then buffed dry with a towel by hand after the final seasoning….it’s just naturally this pretty.

The base features an original bail handle and original screw-on wood handles. I even restored the screws on the wood handles! You’ll notice factory grind marks…these are indeed factory and very common. These pieces were sold for use over a fire or gas in the late 1800’s…they didn’t care about interior grind marks lol. The socket has a factory screw for added strength, the 1900’s bases I’ve seen don’t have a screw.

The paddles are in excellent condition, very little pitting…just gorgeous.

I stripped this piece to bare metal using electrolysis, no chemicals were used in this restoration. Seasoned 3x using grape seed oil for a durable finish to last generations. You’ve found your family heirloom!!
