One of the latches is broken. See pictures. You can push the latch onto the strap and it will hold temporarily but then comes apart again because the top metal trim it screws into is missing on that one strap.

It's still a really great bag even if that side does not latch, but it wouldn't take much to fix it either.
The insert is removable and the velcro dividers allow you to customize your compartments. Or leave it out and use it as a briefcase or computer bag. This satchel also makes a great diaper bag especially when dad doesn't want to carry around a diaper bag that looks like a big purse. The leather shows normal signs of aging just adding to the vintage charm. There is a zipper pocket on the back, and the front also has a pocket on it with a second zipper pocket inside of it. There is another pocket on the inside as well
