1/5 scale Rovan 29cc two stroke gasoline Baja remote control car.
These are genuine, high strength Grade A models. Not factory seconds, not Grade B, and not knock offs.
Out of the box: Ready to run once the wheels are installed and the car battery has been charged. Minimum 2 hours charge recommended.
Battery charging: The car features a charging plug and comes with a USB charger. No disassembly required for charging. Allow battery to cool down for 30 minutes after full charge before operation. Remove charger within 30 minutes of full charge (green light) to help prolong battery life. Store battery fully charged. We use a count down timer like item 386419780550.
Crash durability: Minor crashes are unlikely to cause significant damage.
Uses a 25:1 gasoline to oil ratio (151.4ml per gallon). Fill the small compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 line with oil, then fill the gas compartment to the 25:1 line. Use non-synthetic, mineral-based two cycle oil. Other brands can also be used.
This 6 channel radio essentially only uses 2 channels with this car. Trim is on the 4 adjustments under the cover on the back of the radio. Top left: steering trim. Top right: throttle and brake trim. Bottom left: steering control extents. Bottom right: throttle control extents.
Initial run: Start by running the car at idle to 1/4 throttle or less for about 5 minutes. Let the engine cool down completely after this run.
Second run: Repeat for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool down.
Third run: You can start pushing it a little harder. A new engine generates more heat due to increased friction. Run for 8 to 10 minutes, then let it cool.
Subsequent runs: Continue the process for about five runs, being mindful of any debris that could block cooling. A clean engine runs cooler.
Final break in: After these runs, run at full throttle and let it burn through an entire tank of fuel.
Post break in: Check and snug up the exhaust pipe after the initial break in process.
Before each run: Check bolts throughout the car to ensure they are tight. Threadlocker is recommended on clutch and brake assembly bolts. Clean bolts and holes with alcohol and a cotton swab to help threadlocker adhesion.
You will be tempted to upgrade some parts to aluminum. Aluminum is unforgiving and can transfer impact damage to other parts. High strength plastic can flex and bounce back, and many plastic components are better choices.
