• Beschreibung: Humoristische Skizze eines Mannes und einer gedrungenen Gestalt, die ein Fass reitet. Vom Künstler als Beigabe für den 1860 gegründeten "Kunstnerforening", die ab 1863 regelmäßige Karnevalsfeiern in Oslo begingen. Die Zeichnung stammt aus einer Sammlung von Historien- und Sagendarstellungen mit nordischen Szenen und Themen aus der Hand des dänischen Künstlers Rondahl, der sich besonders als Zeichner einen Namen gemacht hat. Er lieferte die Entwürfe für zahlreiche historische, archäologische und literarische Schriften.

• Description: Humorous sketch of a man and a squat figure riding a barrel. By the artist as a gift for the "Kunstnerforening", which was founded in 1860 and organised regular carnival celebrations in Oslo from 1863. The drawing comes from a collection of historical and legendary depictions with Nordic scenes and themes by the Danish artist Rondahl, who made a name for himself as a draughtsman. He provided the designs for numerous historical, archaeological and literary works.

• Condition: Good condition. The sheet is slightly discoloured and pale foxing due to its age. Slightly damaged along the left edge of the sheet. The upper right corner of the sheet has been cut off diagonally.
