I am in the middle of 3D printing a custom one off large scale RC Hot Rod for myself. This model needs a very specific sized driver and I am being quite fussy over this point. To date I'm on size number 4 of the driver figure and I've still not got the size quite right for my build. I have decided to sell off the perfectly usable figures I've printed so far as I'll not be using them.
The idea of the figure is to position the body parts in the right place for your car and 'tack glue' the limbs into place. Then fill the gaps with car body filler and paint. You can also magnet or elastic them in place so the limbs move with the steering wheel (as I'll be doing) The head and neck will need to be Dremeled and trimmed so they match up well, then glued and filled for a final finish.
The head has been printed separately as I wanted a Ghost Cowboy look that did not come with this body. Once I get the sizing of my driver right for my build, I will be making his head turn with a servo in his chest, so this is the reason I've not 'married' the head to the body in the print.
A little light crafting will be needed to finish this driver figure.
The scale is about 1/8th
Length from his lower back to the tips of his boots is about 160mm
Length from the bottom of his jacket to the top of his hat is about 130mm
His overall weight is about 140g
