Antique Violin by O. Percival 1875 for restoration 4/4 Full

The body is 14"

The pieces are separated and one of the C Bouts is missing. Please rely on the pictures. I am not a luthier and am doing my best to represent this piece.

"O. Percival Maker 1875" is penciled on the inside of the front and back.  The back has a label that I could not read, but interestingly, as you'll see, the picture I took of the back clearly shows that this label is actually a photograph of the maker - an older man with a full white beard. This lead me to search on "findagrave" for any possible men of a certain age in that time period. One intriguing possibility is a Kentucky farmer named Orrin Percival (Dec 16, 1807 - May 28, 1877). Another is Orson V. Percival (Feb. 4, 1817 - Dec.2, 1896). He lived in Vermont which is much nearer to where I am.

The lower ribs need to be reshaped.

The arched top wood case is 31 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 4 1/2". It has a label: "I.E. Hobson Martin Tenn." The original buckles that held the latches were replaced by o-screws.

Please allow for possible color differences due to limitations of camera, lighting and operator (me).
