Konig is best known as a leader and a driving force behind the evolution of the sport compact community. For 40 years Konig has produced some of the highest quality aftermarket wheels in the world. Konig started out as a company focused on developing wheels for kids accessorizing import vehicles for the first time. After decades of track-proven and street driven success, Konig has grown into a company that produces wheels for many vehicle segments, to countries all over the globe, and to the largest wheel and tires dealers in the world.

There are many wheel brands in the automotive industry. In addition to their own wheel brands (Konig, Advanti Racing Maxxim, Bravado Performance, and Mamba Off-road) Konig American also manufactures wheels for use by OEMs as well as some of the largest wheel brands all in the world.

AMPLIFORM

The Ampliform is a mesh inspired, split 6-spoke design that allows for exceptional caliper clearance.  Constructed using our flow formed technology, the freeform is both lightweight and strong - offering drivers the confidence to use it on the track & the street.  The Ampliform also features a more concave face in widths starting at 9.5 inches.

Flow forming is one of the most advanced manufacturing technologies to enter the wheel industry. Flow Forming Technology involves the application of pressure to the inner barrel of the wheel, while spinning and after it has been casted. This process stretches and compresses the aluminum, which increases tensile strength. In this respect the process shares similar properties to those found in the forging process. The final product is lighter, stronger, has increased elongation, and a much greater shock resistance as well as an increased load capacity over regular cast wheels.

Back Cut--During the manufacturing process, a casted wheel, which has been designed to have a separation between the center portion of the wheel and the spoke, is precisely machined with a special tool from the backside of the wheel. This allows that area behind the face of the wheel and spokes to have a specialized machining effect. Some of these effects include a smooth area, a machined area and even a recess in which a stripe can be painted into.
