Using the 1799 draped bust dollar as inspiration Daniel Carr of the Moonlight Mint created an octagonal shaped medal for the club. This 8-sided medal is special because it deviates from the standard circular shape of most medals. In addition to being octagonal the 41 mm copper medals are twice as thick as standard medals of the same diameter with an average weight of 38.62 grams. Similar to the early 19th century coins, the obverse features a draped bust of Liberty with a heraldic eagle on the reverse. Scarce, Only 65 were minted!
The detail and design of these club medals is beautiful and is especially impressive in copper.
