This beautiful Chinese Needlepoint Tapestry Rug is on a cotton backing, with wool thread.  It has had only one owner who purchased the rug in 1988 near Shanghai, and has used it lightly, in her own home.  The rug is clean, with no foot or furniture wear.  The back side of the rug shows skilled handwork.

There are minor flaws, occasional missed stitches - per pictures - NOTE: these are easily corrected with wool thread.  They are not noticeable unless you look up close.  There is only one corner that has a little light soiling, otherwise the entire rug is clean and free of stains or markings.

It measures 103" x 70," (5' 8" x 8' 6") however, due to the fact that it is a hand made needlepoint tapestry material, it is not exactly square cornered as you can see by the picture.  This does not take away from its beauty.  The colors are bright and vibrant, and the quality of the material is notable.
